Biographical Note

Jennie Douglass Moore was born on 08 April 1886 to Robinson and Mary Alexina Douglass. She was the tenth of fifteen children.

Attended school in Alabama and graduated from Salem University in 1907.

Taught in the Alabama Public Schools.

Relocated to Denver (from Detroit) in the early-1940s.

Active in civic organizations (such as the National Council of Negro Women) devoted to betterment of blacks.

In 1978, published The Rhyme of a Race and Other Poems.

Died on 15 August 1981.
