Our Mission
To serve as an educational and cultural resource for the people
of Denver, Colorado, and the world, focusing on the history, literature, art, music, religion, and politics of African Americans in Colorado and throughout the Rocky Mountain West.

The Denver Public Library Organization
The Library is governed by an eight-member Library Commission appointed by the Mayor. The current Library Commission members are: Fofi Mendez, President; Lois Ann Rovira, Vice President; Sid Wilson, Secretary; Susana Cordova, Suneeta Hazra, Jay Mead, Kevin O'Connor and Karen Rokala. Shirley Amore is the City Librarian.
